Five ways to revive a tired complexion

Some mornings are hard work... Whether it's insomnia, short nights or broken sleep, we're left exhausted and it shows : dark circles, bags and a greying complexion all greet us when we look in the mirror. Wouldn't it just be great if we could revive our tired faces in a flash ? Well, here's how :
TIP
1

Cold temperatures : the first line of attack

Cold temperatures reduce swelling and restore the skin's vitality. You can reduce puffiness on your face by wrapping a couple of ice cubes in a tea towel and placing them over your eyes for a few minutes. Yep, it's freezing, but the chill factor really works ! You can also opt for teaspoons that have been cooled overnight in the fridge : just place the curved sides over your eyes to wake up your peepers !

A smoothing face mask

To revive a tired face, apply a face mask to cleansed skin and leave it on while you hop in the shower; a moisturising mask that's packed with active ingredients will have an instant smoothing effect. Your drawn features, tired lines, bags and dark circles will be replaced by a fresh, glowing complexion. The result: smooth, rosy skin and a fresh-faced look !

Soothing facial massage

To soothe tired eyes, place your thumbs on your inner eyebrows and, using gentle pressure, slowly slide them out towards your temples. Repeat, but this time start from just above your eyebrows. This reduces fine lines and will leave you radiant.

Moisturise

Signs of tiredness are less apparent when the skin is properly hydrated. So moisturise morning and night, gently massaging your skin using circular movements. This will stimulate your circulation and allow any active ingredients to be better absorbed. Add a boosting, hydrating serum if your skin's having a particularly bad day. The aim ? To get rid of fine lines, wrinkles, dark circles and dull skin that make your face look tired.

Concealer

An oldie but a goodie ! Use a concealer half a shade lighter than your skin, to make it look as natural as possible. If your dark circles are bluey-violet, opt for an orange-yellow toned product. Using your finger or a brush, apply the concealer to the inner corner of your eye and smooth it across any dark circles below your lower lashes.
