What is global anti aging?
We take a look at the specificities of global anti aging skin care, often confused with its sister, anti wrinkle care, and how important it is at all ages. Here's why.
Anti aging, anti wrinkle. Is it all the same?
In a word, no. The first difference between them is their aim. Global anti aging care acts on all signs of skin aging, such as dark marks, fine lines, wrinkles, loss of elasticity, dullness and dryness. Meanwhile, anti wrinkle skin care just focuses on wrinkles, which is only one sign of aging.
The specificities of global anti aging
Unlike anti wrinkle skin care, which is used when wrinkles are setting in or are already established, mostly in the eye contour area, anti aging skin care is preventative and takes care of the whole face. It is therefore chock-full of antioxidants and has great moisturising properties. This winning combination ensures that the skin has the right amount of moisture for its cells to work properly and helps skin to fight against oxidative stress caused by the sun and pollution, to renew its cells and to produce collagen and elastin. Its final specificity is its anti-inflammatory properties. As skin aging is 80% caused by inflammation, some anti aging products contain anti inflammatory ingredients to further protect your skin.
Must-have skin care at all ages
Whether you are 25, 30, 40, 50 or beyond, global anti aging is of utmost importance in women's skin routines. But, of course, for it to be as effective as possible, you need to choose the right product for your age and skin type. At 25, for example, choose one to prevent the first signs of aging. At 30, try a more “targeted” anti aging product that acts on fine lines, dehydration wrinkles or expression lines. At 40, go for anti aging skin care that targets established wrinkles and prevents loss of elasticity. At 50 and over, anti aging products should take care of skin sagging, thinness, deep wrinkles and dryness. All in all, if there is just one thing you need to remember about global anti aging, it is that it caters to all your skin's needs and must be adapted to your skin over time and, after a certain age, should accompany more concentrated products like serums.
