Kiss goodbye to forehead wrinkles
As we approach our 30s, our facial muscles begin to give up, our skin loses elasticity and wrinkles appear, particularly on the forehead. Disaster ! Time to arm yourself with our wrinkle-busting guide (and, no, it doesn't involve surgery).
Horizontal lines on the forehead and frown lines between our eyebrows; these wrinkles add insult to injury by being slap bang in the middle of our face, making us look grumpy and tired. But there are ways to reduce the appearance of forehead wrinkles, limit muscle contractions around the eyebrows and give our faces back their youthful glow.
First up, make sure you apply a day and a night cream
Opt for a moisturising anti-wrinkle cream, as once we're over the age of 30, our skin starts to dry out. Smooth on your cream in the direction of wrinkles : from your nose to forehead for frown lines, and horizontally for lines on your forehead. A day cream will firm and plump up your skin, then in the evening, apply a night cream that will work to rehydrate your skin and close your pores while you get your beauty sleep.
Embrace the magic of serums
Serums have a much higher concentration of active ingredients than creams, which makes them super effective anti-wrinkle products. The active ingredients plump up wrinkles and improve overall skin tone, so what are you waiting for ? Look for a serum that contains hyaluronic acid, as this is the best ingredient for plumping up the skin.
Try a DIY peeling session
There's no need to see a dermatologist. Don your own white coat, and do an easy glycolic acid peel from the comfort of your bathroom. The idea is to remove dead cells from the skin and boost cell renewal. For best results, do it weekly on cleansed skin. Stop, though, if your skin becomes irritated.
Massage and facial exercises
You work out your body, now work out your face. You can do it at home or in the office (maybe not sat at your desk though). To delay the appearance of frown lines, place your index, middle and ring fingers on each eyebrow and, using a light pressure, smooth outwards while frowning. Keep up the pressure for a few seconds and then repeat 10 times. To reduce forehead wrinkles, place your fingertips on your forehead and smooth upwards. At the same time, try to close your eyes without squinting or frowning (like we said, don't do it at your desk). Hold this position for about 10 seconds, then release.
